Purchased this for when I hire cars so I have something to stick my phone in when I use it's GPS navigation. I had used the windshield sticker type but they are quite bulky and also prone to get damaged.
I have an iPhone 6s+ in the leather cover - and it fits easily and securely into the holder. It attaches securely to the ventilation slots - and yes it does block them to a degree. No overheating problems - as when it is hot in the car you have the aircon on and it actually cools the phone.
I had no issues with the phone or holder falling out nor did it seem likely to break. It didn't wobble. Visibility wasn't quite as good as the windscreen suction cup but perfectly adequate.
Super compact and very solid - you aren't going to break this by packing it too tightly in your luggage.
